How to Study the Bible: Accurately Observing the Text

In this class students will rely upon the Holy Spirit as they employ multiple strategies for observing biblical texts as the first step of finding meaning in a passage. The correct interpretation begins accurate observations. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit. Students pursuing a certificate are required to take "Accurately Observing the Text" or "Correctly Interpreting the Text" as one of their Bible classes.

How to Study the Bible: Correctly Interpreting the Text

In this class students will rely upon the Holy Spirit as they employ multiple strategies for interpreting biblical texts to find the writer's original intent of a passage. Right application depends upon correct interpretation. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit. Students pursuing a certificate are required to take "Accurately Observing the Text" or "Correctly Interpreting the Text" as one of their Bible classes.

How to Study the Bible: Rightly Applying the Text

In this class students will rely upon the Holy Spirit as they discover timeless truths and practical principles from biblical texts. Application of Scripture leads to personal transformation. For students enrolled in a certificate program this Bible class this 3-week class counts 1 unit. 

Genesis: The Beginning of God's Plan for Redemption

This class provides an in-depth study of the book of Genesis and traces the the beginning of mankind through the beginning of the nation of Israel. And while this class will explore topics such as the various theories of creation, the age of the earth, evolution, and the existence of dinosaurs, the focus of the class will be God's sovereign plan for man's redemption. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Pentateuch: God's Preparation for His People

This class traces the history and deliverance of the nation of Israel and their preparation for entering into rest in the Promised Land. Joshua, Judges, and Ruth: Provision and Rebellion

This class provides a study of the nation of Israel as they lay hold of the Promised Land and their subsequent disobedience in response to God's provision of land and leadership. Israel's Monarchy: God's Permission of Israel's Rejection

Wisdom Literature: Reflections of God's People

God's people offer reflections in this course that studies the book of Job, the Psalms, the book of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. Gain insight in the musings of some of the wisest people who ever lived and hear what they have to say about the nature and character of God and our role in the world He has made. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Major Prophets: Pronouncing Repentance and Restoration

This course provides an in-depth study of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel. God provided prophets to provide a message of repentance and a hope for restoration. God's sovereign plan of redemption continues to be spoken through His spokesmen. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Minor Prophets: Pronouncing Repentance and Restoration

An Overview of the Gospels

The Sermon on the Mount

This class provides an in-depth study of the Jesus' greatest sermon on the Kingdom of God. Students will be challenged to incorporate the principles of the sermon into their daily lives. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Parables

This class provides a study of the Kingdom parables of Jesus Christ. Students will examine the purposes of parables and make application to their lives as they pursue a life of obedience to Christ. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

Acts: The Beginning of the Church

This class examines the beginning of the Church, the intimacy of the community, and the persecution that led to the spread of Christianity. The first half of this course will focus primarily upon Peter and the disciples while the latter will focus primarily upon the apostle Paul. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Epistle of Romans: Paul's Theological Masterpiece

This class provides an in-depth study of the epistle to the church in Rome. Of all of Paul's New Testament writings, none is more articulate and challenging than this letter, and students will be challenged to live more Christ-like as a result of studying this profound biblical text. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

Corinthians: Paul's Love for a Messy Church

This class provides an overview of 1 and 2 Corinthians and reflects some of Paul's most personal comments for a church. His harsh words come from a passion to see the Corinthians live for Christ, and students will find encouragement for their own lives as a result of this class. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Prison Epistles: Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon

This class examines the epistles Paul wrote while a prisoner. Paul endured great suffering and persecution as he boldly proclaimed the gospel, and his words provide hope and encouragement for difficult times. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

The Pastoral Epistles: 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus

This class shows the heart of Paul as he mentors young church pastors. The Supremacy of Christ in Hebrews

This class provides an overview of the book of Hebrews and its exaltation of the person of Jesus Christ. This class provides an overview of 1 and 2 Peter and his words of encouragement for those who have been displaced and facing persecution. The Johannine Epistles: Love Letters from John

This class provides an overview of 1, 2, and 3 John. In these epistles students will be exposed to the heart of the loving elder John and his desire to see his spiritual children maturing in their faith in Christ. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Bible class counts 1 unit.

Revelation: God's Plan Fulfilled

This class provides an overview of the book of Revelation, specifically highlighting the Person of Jesus Christ and His role as the coming Judge and King. The Doctrine of Jesus Christ

This class is an in-depth study of the Person of Jesus Christ. We will examine His deity, His humanity, and His present and future ministry in the life not only in the life of the believer but in the eternal plan of God. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Theology class counts 1 unit.

The Doctrine of Angels and Demons

This class is an in-depth study of the origin and nature of angels and their classification and ministry. Considerable times will be spent discussion the nature of spiritual warfare in an effort to encourage believers to submit themselves to the Lord and grow in sanctification and victory over sin. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Theology class counts 1 unit.

The Doctrine of God and the Trinity

This class its an in-depth study of the essential nature of God, His personhood, and His works. We will spend additionally time discussing the significance of the trinity not only to orthodox Christianity but also to individual believers. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Theology class counts 1 unit.

The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit and the Church

This class is an in-depth study of the Holy Spirit and His role in the spiritual life life of believers and in the life of the Church. Students will also discuss the importance of spiritual gifts and how to best utilize those gifts in discipling others. For students enrolled in a certificate program this 5-wk Theology class counts 1 unit.
